SCOTT LIGON SIGNS EXCLUSIVE AGREEMENT WITH
SHORTS INTERNATIONAL

Scott Ligon’s first animated short film, “Escape Velocity”, was recently picked up by SHORTS INTERNATIONAL, an international film distributor with offices in London, New York and Los Angeles.

SHORTS INTERNATIONAL is the world's leading short film brand. It is the largest distributor of the highest quality titles to leading broadcasters including HBO and Sundance and is the only short film company available for purchase on iTUNES besides Disney and Pixar.

SHORTS INTERNATIONAL has exclusive representation of short films from the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences (The Academy Awards), The American Film Institute, and Turner Classic Movies.

Directors and Actors that have produced new short films for SHORTS INTERNATIONAL include Jon Stewart , Henry Rollins, Jude Law, Ewan Macgregor, Tim Roth, Minnie Driver, Chris Penn, Martin Sheen, Eric Stoltz and Rod Steiger.

At the Port Townsend Film Festival, where “Escape Velocity” won “Best Short Documentary”, the film was seen by Carter Pilcher, CEO of Shorts International, where he offered to distribute the film.

“Escape Velocity” has won several awards and has played in festivals and theaters all over the world, including performances in London, Toronto, Moscow, San Francisco and Los Angeles.

Among other awards, “Escape Velocity” won “Best Experimental Film” at the USA Film Festival, Dallas, Texas. This is an Academy Qualified Competition.

A 10 minute version of the film is on the DVD accompanying the recently released revised edition of Michael Dean’s acclaimed how-to book “Thirty Dollar Film School”, Thompson Course Technology.

“Escape Velocity” explores the nature of creativity, and the connection between A.D.D. and creativity, using his own life in self-deprecating, humorous examples.
