FCCA Members selected for “One Hundred Years Together” Exhibit
“One Hundred Years Together” is a joint project between the University of Mary Washington and artists in the greater Fredericksburg region whose works reflect the time, place, changes, traditions, departures, and discoveries of our shared experiences. The juror for the exhibition was K. Johnson Bowles, Director of the Longwood Center for the Visual Arts. The exhibition will be held at the Jepson Alumni Executive Center at the University of Mary Washington from March 7 to 31, 2008.

Fredericksburg Visitor Center Note Cards
The Fredericksburg Department of Economic Development and Tourism has selected the artwork to be used in a note card set featuring local attractions and scenes.  The city's tourism staff selected the works from over 70 submissions from artists in Fredericksburg, Spotsylvania, and Stafford.  The cards will be sold at the Fredericksburg Visitor Center and used as a promotional piece when representing the city in tourism marketing and sales.  The eight card set will feature full-bleed, 5X7 images on the front of each card with text about the artist, the subject matter and its relation to the local tourism industry on the back of the card.  FCCA member artists’ art work selected are:  M.J. Bradley, "Belmont's Garden Gate"; Collette Caprara, "Hugh Mercer's Apothecary Shop"; Cathy Herndon, "Rising Son";  Ellen Worthy Stokes, "Chatham Sunrise" and "Steeples on Princess Anne"; and Shirley Whelan, "Old Stone Warehouse".

Member Ed Funk received the 1st Place/Best in Show award at the Vienna Arts Society, Vienna, Va. annual photography show.

Member Ana Rendich is exhibiting with the National Collage Society at The Dialogue Art Gallery in New York for the months of June and July.

Carol Iglesias, member of FCCA, was awarded membership in The Pastel Society of Maryland and received Honorable Mention in the recently juried Exhibition at the Glenview Mansion Art Gallery, Rockville, Md.

Scott Ligon has signed an exclusive agreement with Shorts International for the distribution of his first animated short film, “Escape Velocity."  CONTINUE>

Scott also has digital artwork in a juried group exhibit “Her Name Was Elizabeth: 60 years of Obsession with L.A.'s Black Dahlia” at the The Regent Galleries in Los Angeles’ Gallery Row.”
